DANIEL MARTIN PETERSON

My name is Daniel Peterson. I founded one of the first computer stores in the world, Digital Design, in 1976. This was before PC'sand before the Apple II computer. I have been telneting since 1974, long before the Clinton Administration in the US anounced the Information Superhighway.
I have been involved in retail and wholesale since I was a child working in my family's importing business. I am educated in physics, nuclear engineering, film, theatre, photography, and computing. I studied under Frederick Werner at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 1970's. Dr. Werner was heavily involved with the people at Dartmouth who brought us BASIC and the Dartmouth Timesharing Service.
I have for many years worked in the Information Technology field. One of my great creations is a communications center which takes orders for Italian food for delivery or take away. This site serves about fifty restaurants in the Cincinati, Ohio area. The center communicates in real time with all of the stores and when a customer calls back for an order status, information on the order is available. I also have worked on the creation of Internet and Intranet commerce sites for Philips Electronics and Lucent Technologies.
As you will see from my site, I am also involved in many other areas of interest. I was the President of the Cincinnati Film Society until May 1, 1999. I am currently the President and Chief Executive Officer for Leinda Corporation, an IT consulting company. I also enjoy traveling and adventure like sailing tall ships.
Since this is my site, it will reflect my views and my work and will also contain links to other sites and pages that I like to share with the world. No attempt will be made to make this an unbiased site. After all, it is my site.
