I came across a Web site of a man who grew up in Wisconsin, left home at the age of 18 and went to live in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is gay and what happened to him in Little Rock reminds me of what happened to blacks in the South when I was young. This man's story could be changed to say that the victim was Jewish, or any other minority in a land of "good o'l boys".
As you will see, when you read the story in this man's Web site, he has survived and is building his life and his body. Please try to explore the entire site. You will find trails into the forest of this man's mind that will lead you to an understanding of the person.
Little Rock, Arkansas is the town from which the current US President, Bill Clinton, gained his polictical power. This is a tragic story and is not an unusual story for a gay man in the United States of America. Especially in the southern part of the country.
Please give others the URL for this story so that they can see how bad things can be. I suggest this, not to depress people, but to expose the fact that these things are still going on in a "civilized" country. As seen recently with the brutal death of a hitchhiker who was a black man, we are far from the time when people understand that we are all sharing this existance and that, as I hope otehrs will understand, we are all in this together.
